Willem Hartog was born in 1979 in Hoorn, the Netherlands. He started his martial arts training at the age of twelve with the Janpanese Wado Ryu Karate, Fudoshin Ryu Aiki Jujitsu and Kenso Ryu Jujitsu. At the age of 24, Willem focused his efforts on the Chinese martial art Yong Chun Quan and Taijiquan with Master Shi Dan-Qiu. It was at this time that Willem also started his apprentiship on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Academy for Chinese Medicine Qing Bai. Willem has his own practice Acupunctuur Hoorn (www.acupunctuur-hoorn.nl) on the Grote Oost in Hoorn, the Netherlands.
Willem has been under the direct tutelage of Master Shi since 2003. Willem capatilizes on his experience as a trainer in the Japanese styles that he practiced. Willem was one of the trainers responsible for giving Mobotu Ryu seminars in Atlanta Georgia, USA. He also helped in giving Compliance and Excort training to the Amsterdam Police Force. Due to his talent and experience, Willem was able to grasp the principle of Taijiquan after four years of training and is an Assistant Instructor of Master Shi.
